Quality Assurance

Our Pledge to Safe, High-Quality Anaesthetic Care

We prioritise your safety, comfort and outcome above all. Our consultant anaesthetists adhere to the highest standards of clinical governance, training, audit and data protection to ensure you are in the best hands.

Clinical Governance & Continuous Improvement

Our quality assurance programme is multifaceted and designed to continuously monitor, review and improve our service. Key components include:

Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

All our consultants engage regularly in national and international education, conferences, online learning and peer review—ensuring they remain at the leading edge of anaesthetic, peri-operative medicine and pain management.

Mandatory Training

Each consultant completes annual mandatory modules including resuscitation, infection control, health & safety and other hospital-required training to maintain safe practice.

Case Review Meetings

We hold regular anonymised case-review meetings to discuss complex cases, unexpected complications and outcomes. These discussions drive learning and help refine practice that benefits all our patients.

Audit & Feedback

We conduct formal audits comparing our performance to recognised standards, systematically review outcomes, collect patient and surgeon feedback, and implement recommendations for improvement.

Safeguarding

Protecting children, vulnerable adults and all patients in our care is a top priority. Our consultants undergo enhanced DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) checks and appropriate safeguarding training (Levels for children & adults) as required.

Data Protection & Secure Patient Information

We take the confidentiality, integrity and security of your personal health data extremely seriously:

  • Our online questionnaires are developed, maintained and accessed exclusively by our consultant anaesthetists—no third-parties handle your clinical data.
  • All data entry is via secure HTTPS links; information is encrypted and stored in systems compliant with GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and other relevant data-protection legislation.
  • We maintain a transparent Privacy Notice and Data Processing Map (available for download) which explain how we process, store and protect your data.
